A Church for young people
We have always been very keen to provide a relevant experience of the gospel to young people (some of us began in this way ourselves) and we have a strong tradition of combining religious teaching and a call to faith with an emphasis on personal development. We try to involve our young people as much as possible in the life of the Church and value their contribution and opinions.
Currently we offer:
- A midweek Pilots Group
- A Toddlers’ Group
- A Thursday After-School House Group for junior aged children
- Sunday morning ‘All Sorts’ Groups (4 to 18 and crèche)
- A Music Group which plays in worship
- All Age Worship, at least once a month, other services that young people will find relevant and are encouraged to lead and to participate in, through drama, dance, music, speaking.
We also believe in the power of residential experiences. We both organise events ourselves (e.g. canal trips) and encourage and support (including financially) our young people to attend events run by the U.R.C. nationally (e.g. Theatre Week – now part organised by one of our young members).
