Friendship 2000
Community Activities for the Young at Heart
This popular group meets on alternate Tuesdays at 2pm with the exception of August. Membership numbers are in excess of seventy, with an average weekly attendance of fifty. There is no set membership fee, but a voluntary offering is taken at each meeting.
The varied programme includes speakers, quizzes, fun and craft afternoons, entertainers, outings, an auction for a local charity and the occasional scrumptious buffet meal. ‘Chat and a cuppa’ feature every time we meet. Food, Fun and friendship – can’t be bad.
This is a group that proves not only that ‘life begins at sixty’ but also that such liveliness lasts when there is something good to anticipate. Friendship 2000 is noted for the love and support it gives in time of need.
